NEWTOWN SQUARE—SAP America has named Steve Bauer as vice president of North America communications. In his new position, Bauer is responsible for developing and managing communications programs for SAP America, enhancing the company’s image among customers, employees, industry analysts and the media.

He will work alongside and reinforce SAP’s global communications platform, reporting to Anne McCarthy, senior vice president of SAP global communications, and helping SAP build on the positive public perception it has earned as a leading provider of business software solutions.

Bauer has 16 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing and public relations.  He was recently vice president of corporate communications at Catena Networks, where he created a strong communications infrastructure and built outstanding corporate and product brand identity. “Steve is a great addition to a great communications team,” McCarthy said. “He has a proven track record in corporate communications, from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. During his career, he has consistently improved the bottom line through development of strategic corporate communications, marketing and public relations initiatives.”
