MINNEAPOLIS—Matthias Beckmann has been named principal and head of Carmichael Lynch Spong’s newest office in San Francisco, playing an integral role with client A.G. Edwards, as well as developing the firm’s technology practice and serving the corporate practice.
Beckmann joins Carmichael Lynch Spong from Zoom Marketing in Palo Alto, Cal., where he was a director working on positioning projects globally. He has managed client relationships and directed account teams for high-tech companies including TiVo, Spherion, Palm, NeoEdge Networks, Novell, Integral, TimeBridge, Borland and Risk Management Solutions.
Prior to Zoom, Beckmann served as director and head of media relations for the Americas at Swiss Bank Corporation/UBS out of its New York office and earlier was associate director and head of marketing and advertising for the international and finance division of Swiss Bank Corporation in Zurich.
In addition, Jay Musolf has been named counselor and chair of the newly-formed youth marketing practice group at Carmichael Lynch Spong and will be based in the firm’s Minneapolis office and will provide strategic oversight and creative counsel to clients Maytag and American Standard. Musolf joins the firm from Best Buy Co. Inc., where he worked in the brand PR department. Earlier, he worked at Fleishman-Hillard.
Kristine Vernier has been named public relations counselor at Carmichael Lynch Spong and will be based out of Benton Harbor, Mich., working on the Maytag brand at the Whirlpool Corporation headquarters. She from her position as marketing manager for Priority Health of Grand Rapids, Mich.
