LOS ANGELES, September 7—SONICblue, a leader in the converging Internet, entertainment, and consumer electronics market, has selected The Bohle Company for corporate and product public relations following a review that included the company’s three incumbent agencies: Bohle, Porter Novelli, and Silicon Valley technology specialist A&R Partners.

The account is believed to be worth in the low seven figures and will be led by agency president Sue Bohle.

SONICblue will introduce six or seven new consumer products this fall, all aimed at enhancing the audio and video experience in the home. The company already has strong product brands in Rio (which was represented by Porter Novelli), ReplayTV (which was represented by A&R), Go-Video, Cal Audio, Loewe and ProGear. The company now seeks to strengthen its corporate brand and add new services that tie the products together in a broadband, networked home.

“We are moving to a functional organization with more focus on building the SONIC brand as a disruptive player in the digital media space,” Tracy Perry, vice president of IR and PR, explained. “The Bohle Company showed us it had the background to handle the entire effort and the enthusiasm we were looking for.”
