NEW YORK—The Bank of New York has named R. Jeep Bryant managing director and global head of corporate communications. He will report to Thomas A. Renyi, chairman and chief executive officer.

Bryant brings extensive experience in public relations and journalism and in the financial services sector to his new role. From 1989 to 1999, he held key management positions within the corporate communications function at First Union (now Wachovia) during a period of growth and change. He led the strategic communication efforts as Wachovia expanded its operations from New Jersey to Florida and diversified into new lines of business.

Since 1999, he has been senior vice president and director of corporate communications for The PNC Financial Services Group, where he created the public relations and internal communications strategy for the launch of a new corporate brand.

“The Bank of New York is focused on fully leveraging the growth opportunities that are ahead of us,” says Renyi. “A comprehensive, strategic focus on communications is an essential component of our success. Jeep’s experience and insight will ensure that we strengthen our communication and outreach to all of the important constituencies we serve.”
