WASHINGTON, D.C., April 17—Burson-Marsteller has named Cynthia Hudson chair of its global public affairs practice, overseeing the firm’s issues management work across Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America, with a particular emphasis on the European Union. Richard Mintz, formerly managing director, will succeed Hudson as chair of the U.S. practice.

Hudson joined Burson in 1998 from BSMG in Washington, where she was a principal. Mintz previously headed the firm’s aviation and transportation practice group, and served as client leader on the U.S. treasury and U.S Federal Reserve accounts, introducing the redesigned U.S. currency.
