Calpine Names Dunn to Lead External Communications

Energy company Calpine Corporation has named Norma Dunn vice president of external communications, responsible for overseeing all aspects of Calpine’s communications with outside constituencies.

SAN JOSE, CA—Energy company Calpine Corporation has named Norma Dunn vice president of external communications, responsible for overseeing all aspects of Calpine’s communications with outside constituencies and expanding awareness of the company’s leadership role in producing low-carbon, natural-gas-fueled and renewable power generation.

Previously, Dunn was senior vice president of communications at Aquila, a natural gas and power utility where she redesigned and implemented a comprehensive communications and community relations program for the company. Dunn also served the El Paso Corporation in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility between 1987 and 2003 rising to senior vice president of corporate communications and government affairs.

Richard Barraza, currently senior vice president of corporate communications, has announced his plans to resign from Calpine later this month to pursue other opportunities.
