VANCOUVER—National Public Relations, Canada’s largest domestically owned public relations firm, has agreed to acquire Labrador Communications. Labrador will merge with National’s Vancouver office, creating a public and government relations consulting operation with 21 employees.

Marcia Smith and Randy Wood, co-founders of Labrador Communications, will become managing partner and senior vice-president, respectively, of National-Vancouver. Michael Burns will remain in his current role as senior counsel to National, based in the firm’s Vancouver office.
“The acquisition of Labrador is in line with National’s growth strategy, as we continually search for new and innovative ways to help our clients create value through communications, while reinforcing National’s position as the leading firm of its type in Canada,” says Luc Beauregard, founding chairman and chief executive officer.
