RALEIGH, December 13—Regional public relations powerhouse Capital Strategies is acquiring Crescent PR, a Charlotte-based public relations firm. With the acquisition, Capital Strategies will now have 45 employees and generate more than $5 million in fee income annually.

“Crescent PR is a dynamic firm with a deep commitment to serving clients and helping them meet their business objectives,” says Ken Eudy, CEO of Capital Strategies. “This move strengthens our capabilities to help organizations protect their reputations, sell and market products, communicate with key audiences and succeed in the governmental arena.”

Crescent PR clients include CT Communications, McGuireWoods, First Charter Corporation, Scottish Reinsurance and AdminSolutions. They join a Capital Strategies client list that includes Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina, Progress Energy, Deloitte Consulting, Amerix, the State Library of North Carolina and the North Carolina Economic Developers Association.

Winn Maddrey, president and founder of Crescent PR, will become managing partner of the Charlotte office and a member of the Capital Strategies management committee. “This was an exciting opportunity for Crescent PR to join with the strongest firm in North Carolina and expand our service offerings to include marketing, public affairs and Web services,” says Maddrey.
