LOS ANGELES—CarryOn Communication has acquired consumer technology firm Schuerman Communications. Under the terms of the acquisition, Schuerman Communications’ principal, J.P. Schuerman, will serve as vice president and practice leader of the consumer and technology practice at CarryOn, responsible for clients such as Razor USA, Zayo, Applied Semantics and Johnny Rockets.

In addition, Schuerman brings his own clients, including Applied Semantics, KidSport Nutrition Bar, Level 7, Mint Editorial, Colorado FX and Boxer Films to CarryOn.

“J.P. created and led one of the most dynamic and progressive businesses in Southern California,” said Stan Steinreich, executive vice president and chief operating officer of CarryOn Communication. “Since JP’s appointment, the agency has achieved significant gains.  We look forward to continued growth in this category.”

Previously, Schuerman served as the general manager of Faiola Davis Public Relations, media director at the National Cancer Institute, and vice president of marketing communications at College Broadcast.

Steinreich says CarryOn is interested in additional acquisitions, particularly in the New York market and in the U.K., as part of an aggressive growth strategy.
