FAIRFIELD, CT—GE has named William Cary vice president of corporate investor communications. Cary, currently corporate vice president for financial planning and analysis, succeeds Richard Wacker, who has taken a position outside the company as chief operating officer of Korea Exchange Bank.

According to GE chief financial officer Keith Sherin, to whom Cary will report, “Bill is the best leader we have in GE for this position. Bill’s understanding of the company, solid operating experience and his excellent communications skills will be great assets in this increasingly important role.”

Cary previously served as president and CEO of GE Vendor Financial Services, where he led the effort to diversify the business into new growth areas, and as vice president and manager of financial planning and analysis for GE Capital. In his 17-year GE career, he has also served as chief financial officer of global consumer finance and business development for GE Capital in Asia.
