SAN FRANCISCO—Cathay Pacific Airways has named Fleishman-Hillard as its agency of record for public relations activity in North America. The account will be based in San Francisco, home of Cathay Pacific’s North American headquarters and FH will provide support in key markets including Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver and Toronto.

Cathay Pacific’s decision to name a PR agency of record—the first time it has been represented by a single firm throughout all of North America—comes at a time of rapid expansion for the airline. In the next few years, Cathay Pacific plans to offer more flights, new destinations and greater hub connections to enhance its strength as a carrier and further reinforce its extensive Asian reach.

Fleishman-Hillard was selected after an extensive four-month search involving 18 agencies.

“We wanted to select a partner with the experience we need to help us expand our visibility in North America and further enhance our strong reputation for both excellent service and a convenient network from North America to Asia,” says Tom Wright, Cathay Pacific senior vice president for the Americas. “After our meetings with Fleishman-Hillard, we feel confident that its team understands our markets, our clientele, and the aviation industry.” he said.
