SAN FRANCISCO — Jill Nash, head of comms at Levi Strauss & Co. has departed her post after nearly four years with the company.

Nash, who confirmed her exit to the Holmes Report, left the company on 31 December and plans to take time off before her next venture.

It is believed that Amber McCasland, director of corporate affairs in EMEA, will helm the Levi's communications team for the interim. McCasland joined Levi following Nash’s appointment in 2009 and the two previously worked together at Yahoo and Gap, Inc.

Levi's did not respond to request for comment as this story went live.

Nash joined Levi Strauss in March 2009 after more than three years as Yahoo’s chief communications officer and SVP. As CCO and SVP of corporate affairs at Levi, she directed all aspects of the company’s worldwide communications efforts, oversaw media relations, public affairs and policy communications. She also led the company’s issues/crisis management, community relations, CSR and employee communications efforts.

“Working with Levi Strauss was an incredible and rewarding experience,” Nash said. “I’m so proud of the work that we did around sustainability to help put that on the map.”

Levi recently announced it would work to detoxify its supply chain after Greenpeace called the company out, along with several others, for high levels of industrial chemicals in its apparel.

Nash has held posts as VP of global corporate communications at Gap and SVP of corporate communications at Charles Schwab.
