Cone Names Lawrence Chief Reputation Officer

Cone has appointed Mike Lawrence to the newly created role of chief reputation officer. Lawrence will be responsible for all client-facing reputational issues as well as the agency’s own reputation.

BOSTON—Cone has appointed Mike Lawrence to the newly created role of chief reputation officer. Lawrence will be responsible for all client-facing reputational issues as well as the agency’s own reputation.

 

“With more than seventy percent of consumers believing that the reputation of corporate America is ‘poor,’ according to the 2008 Harris Reputation Quotient, companies can no longer afford to overlook the significance of organizational reputation in the eyes of their constituents,” says Cone president and chief executive Jens Bang “The addition of such a role across all agency disciplines—corporate responsibility, cause branding, brand marketing and crisis prevention and management—will help account teams deliver valued insights with a goal of creating trustworthy and highly regarded client brands.”

 

Lawrence will retain his duties as head of the agency’s crisis prevention and management discipline.

 

In addition, as an indication of its continued commitment to the growth and importance of corporate responsibility, Cone has named Jonathan Yohannan a senior vice president and acting head of its CR discipline.  Yohannan will be accountable on a day-to-day basis for the operational functions and account management of the CR group.
