ARLINGTON, VA—Cool Earth, a U.K.-based nonprofit organization that protects endangered rainforest in the Amazon to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, has selected GolinHarris to lead its public relations launch efforts in the U.S.  The agency will promote Cool Earth's brand in the U.S. The account will be led out of the agency’s Arlington, Va., office.

We sought out an agency with a strong track record in sustainability and consumer public relations,” says Matthew Owen, director of Cool Earth. “We selected GolinHarris largely because its sustainability practice, geoImpact, coupled with its passion and understanding for our business provided a winning combination in our eyes.”

Cool Earth was founded in the U.K. in 2007 by Johan Eliasch, Prime Minister Gordon Brown's special representative on deforestation and clean energy, and Frank Field, a longtime Member of Parliament.
