IMG, the sports, entertainment and media company, has named Jim Gallagher as senior vice president, corporate communications. Based in New York, Gallagher will work closely with IMG chairman and CEO Ted Forstmann.

NEW YORK—IMG, the sports, entertainment and media company, has named Jim Gallagher as senior vice president, corporate communications. Based in New York, Gallagher will work closely with IMG chairman and CEO Ted Forstmann on long-term strategic and business-related communication matters, in addition to directing the company’s internal and external communication function around the world.   Gallagher joins IMG from MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media and Internet company of Major League Baseball, where he served as senior vice president of corporate communications since the company’s inception in 2000. Before MLB Advanced Media, Gallagher spent 20 years leading corporate communications at ITT Corporation.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Grocery Manufacturers Association has named Michael McShane to the newly created position of vice president of political affairs. He will report to senior vice president and chief government affairs officer Mary Sophos, and will be primarily responsible for bolstering GMA’s political action committee activity, fund raising and grassroots mobilization efforts. Most recently, McShane served as vice president, government relations for SmithBucklin, the world’s largest association management company.  Previously, he founded and was the president of the McShane Group, a government relations firm with clients in energy, healthcare, and Internet technology, and served 10 years as director of government relations for TRW.
