OAKLAND—Spanish-language media company Univision Communications has named Monica Talan vice president of corporate communications. Talan will be responsible for managing the company’s strategic communications and media relations efforts and promoting Univision’s suite of assets. She will be based in New York and report to Maryam Banikarim, chief marketing officer. Previously, Talan spent more than 10 years at Fleishman-Hillard, most recently serving as senior vice president and partner, working on general and Hispanic market initiatives. Earlier, she was public relations manager for Enron Latin America.


LOS ANGELES—Warner Bros. Consumer Products has named Heather Meeker director of worldwide public relations. She will provide day-to-day strategic guidance for public relations activities on behalf of WBCP worldwide, reporting to Barry Ziehl, VP of worldwide marketing and public relations for WBCP, which includes branded foods, toys, apparel, live events and theme parks.  Most recently, she was manager of public relations for Yahoo!, overseeing internal and external communications for the search marketing and display advertising divisions, as well as acting as a communications liaison to the sales team.
