Senior communications appointments at GM Daewoo, Trump Entertainment Resorts, Sony Online Entertainment, and CBL & Associates.

INCHEON—GM Daewoo Auto & Technology has appointed Jay Cooney as its vice president of public and external affairs.  Cooney, who will work at GM Daewoo headquarters in Incheon, west of Seoul, is replacing Rob Leggat,, who will continue to be responsible for General Motors Asia Pacific communications. Cooney currently serves as GM’s director of global motor shows, overseeing strategy and positioning for GM, its vehicles and brands at major auto shows and other events around the world. Prior to his current assignment, Cooney was director of media relations and corporate communications for GM Asia Pacific, serving in both Singapore and Shanghai, China.

NEW YORK—Mary Moyer has been appointed public relations manager for Trump Entertainment Resorts, responsible for spearheading public relations campaigns to gain publicity for the group’s entertainment, special events and community involvement. Moyer most recently was advertising and public relations manager at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort. Before joining the Atlantic City Trump properties, she was advertising manger at Tropicana Casino & Resort.

AUSTIN—Sony Online Entertainment has appointed Matt Slagle to the newly-created role of public relations manager. A former national technology and business reporter for The Associated Press, Slagle covered industry features, financial and product news at Fortune 500 technology companies. More recently, he led the AP’s national videogame coverage, including reviews and industry features.

CHATTANOOGA, TN—CBL & Associates Properties, which develops and manages malls and shopping centers, has promoted Katie Reinsmidt as the director of corporate communications and investor relations and hired Dan Summerlin as director of corporate relations. Reinsmidt joined the company in August 2004 as director of investor relations and in her new role will be respomsible for all corporate media relations and publicity. Summerlin is responsible for execution of the corporate marketing strategy including development and implementation of corporate collateral materials, advertising campaigns and branding as well as corporate special event planning. Prior to joining CBL, Summerlin was the director of electronic marketing for Unum.
