Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has hired industry veteran Paul Kelash as vice president of corporate communications, plus new people in new roles at The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and Brightpoint.

MINNEAPOLIS—Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, a leading provider of annuities and life insurance, has hired industry veteran Paul Kelash as vice president of corporate communications. Kelash joins Allianz from Weber Shandwick, where he served as vice president of financial services, serving as the account lead for a number of financial services entities, including the American Council of Life Insurers.

 

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards has appointed former journalist, Capitol Hill staffer and senior PR agency professional Dan Drummond as director of public relations at its Washington, D.C. headquarters. Before joining CFP Board, Drummond worked in senior roles at Washington, D.C. public relations agencies including Burson-Marsteller and Powell Tate. Prior to working in the private sector, he was communications director for Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) and a reporter, most recently at The Washington Times.

 

INDIANAPOLIS—Brightpoint, a leader in the distribution of wireless devices and in providing customized logistic services to the wireless industry, has named Thomas Ward as director, investor and public relations. He will be Brightpoint's primary contact with the investment community and media channels and will report to Anthony Boor, executive vice president and chief financial officer. Ward most recently served as director, investor relations, for i2 Technologies, a provider of supply chain management solutions.
