LOS ANGELES—Fox Broadcasting has promoted its longtime publicity and corporate communications chief Joe Earley to executive vice president of marketing and communications. In his new role, Earley will continue to oversee the network’s public relations and its creative services department and will take on additional responsibility for marketing functions including on-air promotion, print advertising, national media, affiliate marketing and promotions.

He takes over from Chris Carlisle, who left recently to take the senior marketing post at New Line, and will report to Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Liguori.

Earley was named executive vice president three years ago. He joined Fox as a senior publicist in 1994 after a career that included positions in HBO’s media relations and in feature-film production and development with producer Gale Anne Hurd.
