Edelman China Leadership Reshuffle Sees Sanjay Nair Expand Duties

BEIJING—Sanjay Nair has added responsibility for Edelman's Beijing office to his existing role as COO of the firm's holding group in China.

The move follows previous Beijing MD Kevin Wang's shift to MD of Edelman China's corporate practice.

The reshuffle comes as Edelman adjusts to life without Steven Cao, CEO of its DJE China holding group. Cao recently returned from detention and the firm has refused to comment on whether he remains an Edelman employee.

Nair will now oversee all business at Edelman’s largest office across its Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa region. The 10-year Edelman veteran has held a succession of leadership roles during his career with the agency.

“Sanjay is a strong leader with equal emphasis on the work we do for our clients and the development of talent,” said Bob Grove, CEO of Edelman North Asia. “I am confident that he will successfully lead the office to enhance our evolving communications marketing offer for our clients and provide richer and deeper careers for our team members.”
