NEW YORK—H.J. Heinz Company has appointed Edelman as its agency of record for corporate and consumer communications counsel and support.
“Over the years, Heinz has sought Edelman’s guidance on various communications projects, and we’ve had a long and fruitful relationship with the agency,” said Ted Smyth, senior vice president and chief administrative officer for Heinz. “We selected Edelman as our agency of record because we were impressed with the company’s knowledge of the food industry and the consumer trends affecting our business.”
Some of Edelman’s initial projects have included raising awareness of Heinz’s philanthropic support of Supplefer Sprinkles—a product designed to curb vitamin and micronutrient deficiencies among children worldwide – and brand positioning and media relations for the launch of Ore-Ida’s newest Extra Crispy Easy Fries product.
Heinz has retained Edelman for international public relations support in Italy, Germany and Australia. Edelman takes over from Ketchum as Heinz’s agency of record.
