Edelman Names Evans President of Strategy One

Daniel J. Edelman has named Laurence Evans president of StrategyOne, Edelman’s full-service research firm. Evans joins from research firm Penn Schoen & Berland Associates, where he was senior vice president.

NEW YORK—Daniel J. Edelman has named Laurence Evans president of StrategyOne, Edelman’s full-service research firm. Evans joins from research firm Penn Schoen & Berland Associates, where he was senior vice president and where his clients included KPMG, Shell, Nokia, Hewlett-Packard, Aramark, Alcoa and Pitney Bowes.

Evans will be responsible for growing StrategyOne’s business, based in New York and reporting to Neal Flieger, general manager of Edelman’s public affairs practice. The unit conducts research globally with a staff of 20 based in Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York and London and had billings of $3.5 million last year. StrategyOne’s clients include Unilever, Wal-Mart, Wrigley’s, Aflac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Charles Schwab.

Prior to joining Penn Schoen in 2000, Evans spent nine years at Caltex Corporation, which is owned by ChevronTexaco, where he held several senior level marketing positions.
