HONG KONG—Edelman has appointed Roger Pereira, founder and head of its Indian operations, as global vice chairman, reporting to Richard Edelman, president and CEO of Edelman Worldwide. In his new role, Pereira will serve as a voice of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and other emerging markets in Asia for the firm in Europe and North America. He will work closely with clients and Edelman consultants to ensure that the voice of emerging markets is being heard in global strategies and campaigns. .

“As we continue to work with and invest heavily in emerging markets, we believe it is important to have a strong representative voice for those markets in a global position within Edelman,” said Richard Edelman. “We want to not only be present in these markets, but also to be able to drive conversations around opportunities- to understand, advise and engage our clients on their presence in these areas.”

In addition to his vice chairman role, Pereira will also become non-executive chairman for India, reporting to Alan VanderMolen, president of Edelman Asia Pacific. In this role, he will represent the firm in interactions with the Indian business community and serve as a senior advisor to Edelman India on macro business issues in the market.

Robert Holdheim will take on the role of country head for India. He is a veteran of Edelman Frankfurt and London and current head of Edelman New York’s corporate communications group.
