Egypt On Hunt For PR Firm To Revive Global Tech Appeal

CAIRO—Egypt is searching for a PR firm that will help revive its international positioning as a key global hub for technology.

The Holmes Report can reveal that the country is seeking a global PR consultancy to revamp a campaign which has stagnated because of the country's recent political strife.

Egypt's Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) previously worked with H+K Strategies on the 'Egypt On' assignment, which succeeded in positioning the country as one of the world's top tech outsourcing destinations by 2011.

The new tender aims to drive similar outcomes, by luring back multinational IT companies to the country and re-igniting development of Egypt's domestic tech industry, which is seen as a key driver of economic growth.

The two-year assignment calls for a broad range of public relations services across multiple markets around the world, focusing on businesses, analysts, media and trade promotion organizations. Key countries include the USA, UK, France, Germany, UAE, Canada and Australia.

It is understood that a number of global PR firms have already responded to the initial RFI. Representatives from ITIDA did not respond to request for comment as this story went live.
