NEW YORK, January 31—Cohn & Wolfe has named Martin Ellis, currently managing director of the firm’s London office, to the new position of executive vice president, and managing director of international development. He will report directly to president and CEO Steve Aiello and will be responsible for developing new business opportunities with both existing clients and prospects.

In addition, the Madrid and Geneva offices will report directly to Ellis.

“This is a very exciting new role both personally and for the company,” he says. “The number of international clients has expanded considerably over the last few years and, while 2001 was a difficult year for our industry, we are confident that clients remain committed to global brand strategies that focus on delivering tangible and measurable results.”

Jonathan Shore has been named managing director of the London office.  Shore joined the agency in 1997 as director of the corporate division, successfully launching Cohn & Wolfe’s digital unit in 2000 and has been instrumental in many of the agency’s new business wins, including Orange and Coca-Cola.
