WASHINGTON, DC—The Glover Park Group has hired Catharine Cyr Ransom, most recently senior climate and environmental advisor to Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), as a managing director in the firm’s government affairs practice.
While working with Baucus, Ransom served as lead advisor for energy, climate change, and environment as well as liaison to the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee, responsible for building and executing a comprehensive energy and climate change agenda, crafting legislation, building bipartisan coalitions, and forging compromises to advance legislative priorities.
Prior to joining the Senator’s office Ransom served as a principal at the Accord Group where she advised clients on environmental, climate, infrastructure, and water policy.
Earlier, for nearly a decade, Ransom worked for Senator Bob Graham (D-Fla) and the Senate EPW Committee as senior policy advisor, specializing in water, drinking water, and water resources as well as homeland security issues including the Federal response to Hurricane Katrina.
Prior to her tenure on Capitol Hill, Ransom served at the Chief of Naval Operations, where she worked to develop Navy climate change policy, to manage the phase-out of ozone-depleting substances, and to implement environmental management systems.
