LAUREL SPRINGS, NJ—David Hackney, a veteran corporate communications executive who was most recently special assistant to the chairman for communications for retired Exelon chairman Corbin McNeill, has launched David C. Hackney Consulting.

Over the course of his career Hackney has worked for Fortune 500 companies such as utility services company Exelon, PECO Energy, Campbell Soup, and Sunoco.

“David provided excellent counsel to me during our years together at PECO Energy and Exelon,” McNeill says. “His advice and support were particularly helpful in the merger of PECO Energy and Unicom, of Chicago, to form Exelon. His assistance during Exelon’s first eighteen months of operation was extremely important in getting Exelon started.”

The firm will offer a broad range of services while specializing in speechwriter, speech presentation, media relations, internal communications, annual report writing, and crisis communications.
