Farr Joins SAB Miller to Head Reputation Function

SABMiller, one of the world’s leading brewers and parent company to beer brands such as Amstel, Carling, Miller, Peroni and Pilsner Urquell, has named Michael Farr as head of reputation and corporate communications.

LONDON—SABMiller, one of the world’s leading brewers and parent company to beer brands such as Amstel, Carling, Miller, Peroni and Pilsner Urquell, has named Michael Farr as head of reputation and corporate communications, a newly created position at the company designed to “recognize the fact that SABMiller’s reputation is one of the company’s key assets.”

Reporting to Sue Clark, director of corporate affairs, and based in the U.K., Farr will direct the development and positioning of SABMiller’s reputation with global stakeholder groups and will be responsible also for a number of key activities to build the company’s corporate brand. He will also be responsible for SABMiller’s e-communications strategy, the production of corporate publications, events and hospitality activities and will direct and develop the positioning of SABMiller with the company’s 70,000 employees.

Farr has spent the last three years as Head of Communications for SAB Limited in South Africa. During his career he has been CEO of the Cape Town Partnership where he spearheaded urban renewal, CEO of SA Tourism and CEO of the Tourism Business Council. Prior to that he was South Africa’s consul general in Hong Kong.
