WASHINGTON, D.C.— Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations has hired A. Bailey Wood Jr., as a senior vice president in its homeland security practice. Wood most recently served as communications director of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee of Homeland Security under former chairman Rep. Christopher Cox (R-CA).

Jerome Hauer, head of the company’s homeland security team and former head of emergency preparedness for New York City under Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, says, “Bailey brings an insider’s knowledge of Congress and its workings. We hired him not only for this experience, but also for his top-notch communications skills and substantive expertise.”

Before his service on the House Homeland Security Committee, Wood served as communications director for Rep. Cox, press secretary to Reps. Mike Ferguson (R-NJ) and Paul Gillmor (R-OH), and legislative assistant for the House Committee on Education and Workforce.
