BEIJING—Fleishman-Hillard has expanded its presence in China, adding a new Guangzhou office to its existing China operations in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The new office, headed by veteran communications executive and Guangzhou native Howard Lee, will report to Li Hong, managing director of Fleishman-Hillard Link, the firm’s mainland China operations.

“Guangzhou and the surrounding province of Guangdong have always been at the center of Southern China’s thriving economy,” says Fleishman-Hillard chairman and chief executive officer John Graham.

Adds Li Hong, “This region is the base of operations for many of the largest consumer brands in China, and is home to a great many manufacturing sites. And the density and relative wealth of the area’s population also make it a thriving marketplace for many service industries, including insurance, automobiles, telecommunications, and real estate.”

Howard Lee previously held account service positions at Ogilvy Advertising and Ogilvy PR.
