WASHINGTON, D.C.—Financial Dynamics, the U.K.-based firm seeking to duplicate its broad-based corporate communications and public affairs operation in the U.S., has opened a Washington, D.C., office and hired former Fleishman-Hillard executive Stan Collender as general manager.

The Washington office is FD’s fourth US location, joining New York, Boston and San Francisco, all of which were opened by the former Morgen-Walke Associates, which hanged its name to Financial Dynamics last year. The firm has 11 offices worldwide.

“Financial Dynamics’ ambition as a global organization is to serve our clients in the world’s most important markets,” said Declan Kelly, president and CEO of Financial Dynamics U.S. “We have long considered Washington an important part of these plans and believe that it will play a pivotal role in our future growth in North America.

“Establishing a presence in Washington and adding public affairs to our existing services puts FD in a unique position to help companies successfully navigate an increasingly complex business and regulatory environment.”

Collender joins FD from Fleishman Hillard’s Washington office, where his experience spans public relations and public affairs, with particular expertise in budgetary matters. Collender has provided public affairs and public relations counsel to clients including Ernst & Young, the U.S. Mint, Sallie Mae, the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Institutional Shareholder Services, and Allfirst Financial.

Says Collender, “Washington D.C. is one of the largest media hubs in North America and the seat of decision making that governs the operation of the nation. By opening an office here we are enhancing our service to global clients with knowledge of another key metropolitan city and bringing FD’s strong international consultancy expertise to clients based in the Washington area.”

Other hires in Washington are Simon Keymer, a public affairs communications specialist, and Beverly Campbell, both of whom were previously part of Collender’s team at Fleishman Hillard.
