WESTPORT, CT—ICR, a financial communications consulting firm, has established a new corporate governance consulting unit that will provide senior-level support to public and soon-to-be-public companies on aspects of corporate governance. The group will be led by two former members of proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholder Services, Brandon Meyer and Robin Mayns Cowles.
According to ICR president Don Duffy, “Corporate governance is a critical area of interest for our clients and all public or soon-to-be-public companies. As a firm with a focus on managing a company’s perception on Wall Street, being able to provide truly expert advice and analysis in the area of corporate governance will be a significant asset for our business.”
Meyer joined ICR from Institutional Shareholder Services, where he was a research analyst, manager of the firm’s Global Corporate Governance Quotient product, and a corporate governance advisor. Cowles was director of research at JMR Financial and later concentrated on equity plan and M&A analysis at ISS.
The firm has also established a new consumer products and personal care practice, led by senior vice president Laura Kiernan and vice president R. Idalia Rodriguez. Most recently, Kiernan was vice president of investor relations at Playtex Products, which recently merged with Energizer. Prior to joining Playtex, she directed investor relations for Revlon. Prior to joining ICR, Rodriguez was an independent consultant and also served as the director of investor relations for Axeda Systems and PSC Corporation.
