fischer Appelt Buys Daimler Chrysler TV Operation

fischerAppelt Kommunikation has further expanded its business with the purchase of DaimlerChrysler tv.media GmbH in Stuttgart. DaimlerChrysler is selling its fully owned subsidiary and TV production firm to the Hamburg public relations agency.

STUTTGART—fischerAppelt Kommunikation has further expanded its business with the purchase of DaimlerChrysler tv.media GmbH in Stuttgart. DaimlerChrysler is selling its fully owned subsidiary and TV production firm to the Hamburg public relations agency. The new company will be known as fischerAppelt tv media.

The company was founded by DaimlerChrysler in 1999 and clients include the Schäffler Group, the VDI (Federation of German Engineers), the Sparda banks and Wellendorff, in addition to DaimlerChrysler itself. Services range from the conception and realization of IPTV, Web TV and corporate/business TV formats to high-quality image film, Internet, multimedia, and 3-D productions to audiovisual productions and live broadcasts of large international events.

“The new subsidiary will enable us to continue the broadening of our competence on the growing market for moving images,” says the PR consultancy’s founder and owner Bernhard Fischer-Appelt. “Television has always been a revolutionary medium. Broadband Internet is ringing in a new era: moving images on new channels are the future of communications.”

The acquisition will allow fischerAppelt to opem a new location for integrated communications in Stuttgart. The management team consists of Christian Pott and Matthias Wesselmann, previously located in Hamburg. Andreas Vill and Christopher Nolde will continue to serve as general managers for television production.
