Former Gap Exex Stewart to Lead APCO San Francisco Office

Cherie Stewart, former senior director of corporate communications for Gap Brand, has joined APCO Worldwide as a senior vice president and managing director of the company's new San Francisco office.

SAN FRANCISCO—Cherie Stewart, former senior director of corporate communications for Gap Brand, has joined APCO Worldwide as a senior vice president and managing director of the company's new San Francisco office. The office will serve as a center of excellence for the firm’s growing consumer practice, but is expected to develop full-service capabilities.

 

In her previous role, Stewart led communication programs for well-known consumer brands such as Gap Inc., Gap Brand, and Old Navy, provided executive communication counsel and strategic support to the senior leadership team and integrated and aligned de-centralized company communication efforts. At LeapFrog Enterprises, Stewart oversaw all corporate, crisis, financial and internal communication

 

Stewart gained significant agency experience earlier in her career, where she supported consumer and consumer tech clients at Weber Shandwick, Wilson McHenry Company and Cunningham Communications.

 

Mischa Dunton, former senior public relations manager at LeapFrog Enterprises, joined APCO as a vice president last year, and was the firm’s first employee in San Francisco.
