Former H&K Exec Kircher Joins ConAgra

ConAgra Foods has named Chris Kircher as vice president, communications. Kircher, based at ConAgra’s corporate headquarters in Omaha, is responsible for communications functions, including media relations.

OMAHA, July 15—ConAgra Foods has named Chris Kircher as vice president, communications. Kircher, based at ConAgra’s corporate headquarters in Omaha, is responsible for communications functions, including media relations and communications with the company’s key constituencies.
 
Before joining ConAgra Foods, Kircher worked for Hill & Knowlton from 1989 to 1996 and then again from 2000 to the present, most recently, as senior managing director in the corporate practice, responsible for leading and managing one of the agency’s major account teams. Kircher also worked at Philip Morris from 1996 to 2000 as manager, financial communications, responsible for implementation and management of the company’s ongoing financial and corporate communications efforts.
 
According to Bruce Rohde, chairman and chief executive officer, “ConAgra Foods is on the path of becoming America’s favorite food company. The communications function and communicating with key audiences is a critical component of that process. Chris has the public relations and communication experience, along with the expertise to help the company augment that effort.”
 
ConAgra Foods markets consumer brands including Hunt’s, Healthy Choice, Armour, Bumble Bee, Knott’s Berry Farm, Wesson, Country Pride, Blue Bonnet, Parkay, Butterball, Slim Jim, Chef Boyardee, Orville Redenbacher’s, Pam, and Hebrew National. The company has won several awards for its cause-related marketing program, Feeding Children Better, devoted to ending childhood hunger.
