ST. PETERSBURG—Glasure Group, a Florida public relations firm, has added a sports marketing practice and hired Randall Metting, former director for Atlanta-based The Music Network, as vice president of sports and entertainment marketing. Metting developed marketing, corporate branding and sponsorship programs for Music Network.

The firm also hired former Tampa Tribune sportswriter Bill Chastain and Bill Bunker, longtime sports and information director at Florida State University.

Last month, the agency produced the Florida Sports Hall of Fame induction weekend, and this month it is working on the Ultimate Sports Adventure, a 35,000-mile RV road trip around major sporting events to raise money for the Cancer Research & Prevention Foundation.

In a separate announcement, the firm says it has teamed with Adfinity in a joint venture that will offer marketing services to the death-care industry. By joining a PR co-op group, funeral homes and cremation specialists can hire the firm at a nominal fee, under $1,500 in most cases.
