SAN FRANCISCO, June 27—Graham & Associates has launched a new environmental and social venture practice, and added three new clients in that practice: The American Land Conservancy, a national non-profit agency that acquires land to preserve natural resources; The Institute on Aging, a non-profit senior services agency; and the Fort Baker Retreat Group, an environmentally focused development group.

According to president and founder Lydia Graham, “Environmental and social issues are important to us as an agency and as individuals. When we first began working with non-profits and socially focused organizations in 2000, we quickly recognized that they require a specialized approach to PR.”

The new practice area targets companies and non-profits dedicated to environmental and social issues. The firm will offer media relations and collateral development, positioning and branding, public affairs and grassroots services.

Graham’s previous experience with non-profit organizations and social ventures includes two of the world’s leading  environmentalists: Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace and Sea Shepherd; and Jean-Michel Cousteau, a leading expert on marine conservation and environmentally responsible tourism.
