HOLLYWOOD—Janet Hill has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president of corporate communications at the Paramount Pictures unit of Viacom. Hill will be based in Los Angeles and will report to Paramount chairman and CEO Brad Grey. She will oversee internal and external business and media communications and public relations for the company.

Hill recently served as the senior vice president of west coast corporate communications for MTV Networks, managing all of MTV Networks’ internal and external communications, including business, trade, and consumer publicity on the west coast. She worked along the Paramount PR team on many MTV Films productions, including Jackass: The Movie, The Longest Yard, and Coach Carter, as well as Nick Movies’ hits, including Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

Earlier, she was executive vice president of publicity for Miramax Films and worked at Yorke & Hill Public Relations and PMK Public Relations.

In addition to working with Grey and the studio’s executive team, Hill will also work closely with Nancy Kirkpatrick, executive vice president of worldwide publicity, who will continue to handle the day-to-day feature publicity operations for Paramount Pictures.
