Holt Becomes Executive Mentor at Univ.of Arizona MBA Program

Barry Holt, retired vice president of global communications of Whirlpool Corp., is joining The University of Arizona's Eller College of Management as an executive mentor in the MBA Business Communication Program.

TUCSON—Barry Holt, retired vice president of global communications of Whirlpool Corp., is joining The University of Arizona's Eller College of Management as an executive mentor in the MBA Business Communication Program. Holt will serve as a guest lecturer in the program. For the past several years, he has assisted in delivering a course designed to prepare MBA students for both corporate crisis communication and communicating with investors.

 

Holt retired from Whirlpool in June 2004, after more than 35 years in public relations and corporate communications. He is currently working as a corporate communications consultant, including serving as senior adviser on communications to Information Services Group Inc., in Stamford, Conn.

 

Holt was named corporate vice president, global communications, of Whirlpool in July 2000. He came to Whirlpool from ACNielsen Corp., where he served as senior vice president of global communications. Before joining ACNielsen, Holt worked for the Philip Morris Companies in New York, as vice president, corporate communications. He also was director, public affairs, for Pepsi-Cola International.
