LONDON—European technology public relations firm Hotwire, acquired two years ago by Australian holding company Photon Group, is expanding beyond the EMEA region by joining forces with Kinetics, a sister agency in Sydney, Australia. Kinetics will become known as Hotwire Kinetics.

The Australian firm works with several recognizable technology brands, including Cisco, FileMaker, Lexar and Logitech. The firm is a full service public relations and marketing communications consultancy that works primarily with clients in the information technology, business-to-business and consumer sectors.

Jörn Sanda, formerly of Text 100 and Hill & Knowlton, has been appointed managing director to spearhead the growth of Hotwire Kinetics. Sanda has over 16 years’ experience in the communications industry, and will work with founder Jody Lennon, who takes up the position of executive chairman: both will report to Andy West, Hotwire’s managing director International.

According to West: “Hotwire always had the intention of expanding into the Australian and New Zealand markets when the time was right. The relationship we have built with Kinetics through the Photon Group, and the strength that the Kinetics team has in the region, makes this the ideal approach for our entry into Australia and New Zealand, and will provide a springboard for further growth into Asia.”
