JAKARTA—Fortune PR, one of the leading independent public relations firms in Indonesia, has opened its first overseas office in Singapore. The new office will expand the brand presence of Fortune—named South East Asia Consultancy of The Year by The Holmes Report last year—in the South East Asia sub-region.

Fortune PR Singapore is led by Benjie Ng, a seasoned Singaporean public relations professional who had held leadership positions in many organizations, including the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore, the Management Development Institute of Singapore, the Singapore Confederation of Industries, the Financial Planning Association of Singapore, and the Singapore Red Cross.

According to Indira Abidin (pictured), Fortune’s managing director, the firm will focus on handling Singaporean companies expanding to Indonesia and Indonesian companies expanding to Singapore. In the long run, both offices plan to specialize on developing communications strategies for Singaporean and Indonesian SMEs and non-profit organizations.

Fortune PR was started in 1984 as a corporate communications business unit of Fortune Indonesia Advertising agency. Abidin took the leadership role in 2005 and she has grown the firm to the point that it now employs more than 100 people in its office in Jakarta.
