PRSA Foundation seeks diversity study bids; Trevelino/Keller launches new partnership; Walker Sands joins PROI; plus more.

NEW YORK—The PRSA Foundation has issued a call for proposals for projects that improve the recruitment, retention and advancement of under-represented groups, particularly African Americans and US Hispanics/Latinos, in the public relations profession. The Foundation is also seeking proposals to conduct research studies that advance the understanding of under-represented groups. Proposals must be submitted via email to [email protected] by August 30, 2013 at 5 PM EST. 

ATLANTA—Public relations firm Trevelino/Keller has partnered with marketing services companies Co-Opportunities, Craft Catalyst and Revellaware, to form Consume Brands, a consulting model designed to offer expertise across concept development, customer experience, reputation management and brand extension to food and beverage companies. The offer is designed to serve global brands as well as early stage companies.

CHICAGO—Walker Sands, a public relations and digital marketing agency for business-to-business and technology companies, has been selected to become a partner in PROI Worldwide. Walker Sands is well-known for its data-driven approach to public relations and becomes the exclusive Chicago partner for the network.

WASHINGTON, DC—Roger Conner, a senior executive in the hospitality industry, veteran crisis communicator, and principal of Conner Communications, has joined CommCore Consulting Group as a senior consultant. Conner will work out of CommCore’s Washington, DC headquarters. A 25-year Marriott executive, Conner served as vice president, communications, for the company, responsible for brand and market PR, special events and sponsorships, internal communications, community relations engagement and PR, issues management, and crisis communications.

LONDON—Following his resignation as managing director of international at VMA Group earlier in the year, Oskar Yasar has launched a new executive search and recruitment consultancy, Oskar Yasar Partnership. The firm will focus on Zthe areas of corporate communications, public relations, investor relations and marketing communications. Yasar joined VMA Group nine years ago from Citigate Dewe Rogerson.

SUWANEE, GA—Strategic Vision, has launched PR Essentials for Startups, a new program that provides the public relations for new companies. The service includes press releases, blog, media kit, media list, media training, company story, social media and a crisis PR template.

LONDON—Business information group Precise has launched a new monitoring platform that integrates social and mainstream news media in a single timeline. Media Platform+ is designed to enable PR professionals and marketers to easily monitor what people are saying about their company, product or service or any relevant subject across all social and mainstream media on a single platform.
