SÃO PAULO—Llorente & Cuenca, a leading communications consultancy with offices throughout the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries, has opened its second office in Brazil. The new São Paulo office supplements an existing operation in Río de Janeiro—specialising in counselling large cap companies and institutions—and offices in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Portugal and the Dominican Republic.

BUENOS AIRES—, one of the leading independent communications firms in Argentina, is the latest company to join the PROI Worldwide Partnership, a network of independently owned marketing and communications agencies with global fee income in excess of $421 million. Position Comunicaciones Estrategicas has been selected as a partner in Colombia. Led by Mauricio Ferro, managing director and senior partner, Position Comunicaciones is a full-service PR agency with six business units: mass media, crisis management, social and digital media, stakeholder management, public affairs and legal battles, working with global brands such as AON or Holland & Knight.

MIAMI—Public Relations Global Network, a leading international network of independent public relations agencies, has elected David Landis of Landis Communications in San Francisco as its new president.  Landis will lead a worldwide network of 47 independently-owned public relations agencies on six continents. Other appointments include Uwe Schmidt, president of Hamburg-based Industrie-Contact, who has been named president-elect, and new secretary CL Conroy from The Conroy Martinez Group in Miami.

WASHINGTON, DC—Healthcare specialist Jones Public Affairs has rebranded and adopted the name JPA Health Communications, reflecting the increased convergence of public affairs, advocacy, traditional public relations and digital marketing. Additionally, the firm has opened an office in the United Kingdom.
