HONG KONG—The Hoffman Agency, a global high-tech public relations firm, has hired Susan Tomsett as new managing director for its Asia Pacific region. Most recently, Tomsett was chief operating officer of Burson-Marsteller Greater China. Her clients have included technology companies ranging from Microsoft to Qualcomm to Yahoo! to Intel. She also has experience beyond the technology sector with clients such as British Petroleum, Unilever, Wal-Mart and Virgin Atlantic. The Hoffman Agency entered Asia Pacific with the opening of its Singapore office in 1996. Today the firm also operates offices in Japan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan.

LONDON—Nelsons, one of the U.K.’s largest manufacturers of homeopathic remedies, has appointed Cohn & Wolfe London to raise the profile of Nice ‘n Clear, a natural treatment for head lice. The agency, currently retained by Nelsons to promote Rescue Remedy, Bach Original Flower Remedies and Nelsons Arnicare, will work to position Nice ‘n Clear as an effective alternative to chemical products. The campaign will target consumers and the trade through a program of print, online and broadcast activity aimed at health and lifestyle media.

LONDON—Virgo Health PR, the three-year-old healthcare specialist recently named Consultancy of the Year at the Communique Awards, has promoted Emily Brooks to senior account manager and Natasha Gifford to account executive. The firm has also added Ed Purkis and Abby Brindley as junior account executives, taking the Virgo team to 30 staff.
