ISLANDIA, NY—Computer Associates International has promoted Dan Kaferle to senior vice president for corporate communications. He takes over from Charles Holleran, who left CA recently to become chief communications officer at Ford Motor Company.

Kaferle joined CA in 2002 as senior vice president for worldwide public relations. Previously, he was senior vice president and general manager of the Boston office of Blanc & Otus, and vice president for corporate public relations at Digital Equipment, second vice-president for external communications at The Travelers Companies, and director of public relations at Staples.

Says Kenneth Cron, CA’s interim chief executive officer, “In Dan, we were able to promote a highly qualified executive from within CA to head our entire corporate communications function. I welcome the opportunity to work with such a great management team to advance our position in the rapidly expanding management software marketplace.”
