NEW YORK—Manning Selvage & Lee has named Anders Kempe, CEO of its JKL Group operation in the Nordic region, as its European president. Kempe will oversee MS&L’s European operations, which include 15 offices, and will represent the European region on the agency’s global leadership team. He will focus on leading the agency’s growth plan across the continent.
“Anders’ substantial experience as an entrepreneur and his reputation as one of Sweden’s most highly regarded corporate counselors make him an ideal fit for this new role,” says Mark Hass, global chief executive officer. “His vision for what a powerful global agency should look like in Europe will help ensure our continued success.”
Kempe, who will remain CEO of JKL, has experience in communications strategy, public affairs and financial communications. He was one of the founders of JKL, which was established in 1985 and acquired by MS&L parent Publicis Groupe in 2002. In January of this year, a Publicis realignment made JKL part of MS&L.
JKL is one of the largest public relations networks in the Nordic region. Headquartered in Stockholm, it has nearly 100 employees in its offices in Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Helsinki and Oslo. Its client list includes companies in the financial services, energy, telecommunications, construction, transportation, media, IT, pharmaceuticals, venture capital and professional services industries.
Kempe is the second Nordic public relations exec to be named regional CEO for a global network this year, after Steffen Luders was named to lead GCI’s European operations.
