Korn/Ferry Promotes Spetner an DiSrefano

Korn/Ferry International has promoted Don Spetner, who has served as the search firm’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer since 2000, to executive vice president, corporate affairs, a newly-created role within the firm.

LOS ANGELES—Korn/Ferry International has promoted Don Spetner, who has served as the search firm’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer since 2000, to executive vice president, corporate affairs, a newly-created role within the firm. Spetner will oversee strategic corporate initiatives including the monetization of Korn/Ferry’s intellectual property, the creation of new products and solutions, and the integration of future investments. He will also continue to selectively conduct executive searches as a member of the firm’s external affairs center of expertise.

Michael Distefano, who joined the firm in 2001 as chief marketing officer of its Futurestep unit and has for the past five years served as Korn/Ferry’s vice president of global marketing,will take over Spetner’s old job and will lead marketing, public relations, branding and internal communications efforts across the firm globally.

Prior to joining Korn/Ferry, Spetner was vice president, corporate communications and a corporate officer at SunAmerica. Earlier, he was vice president, corporate communications of Nissan North America and worked for Grey Advertising, Bozell, and Ruder Finn. Distefano was previously vice president of acquisition marketing and new channel development at GetSmart.com.
