NEW YORK—Hill & Knowlton has named Andrew Laurence as chairman and CEO of its Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. Laurence succeeds Paul Taaffe, chairman and CEO of the firm, who had continued to hold that position since leaving Europe three years ago. Most recently, Laurence was chairman of practices for the EMEA region and the deputy chair of Hill & Knowlton U.K.
In his new position, he joins the firm’s worldwide executive committee and will be responsible for the offices across the EMEA region, as well as a network of associate offices.
“As a 15-year veteran of the agency, Andy is a leader and respected practitioner throughout the region. His considerable industry depth and proven track record offer our clients and staff stability and experience unmatched by our competitors,” Taaffe said. “The EMEA region did well last year in spite of tough trading conditions. Much credit for this must go to a seasoned and professional management team of which Andy is a key part.”
Laurence joined the company in 1989, and has held a number of senior positions within the firm including joint CEO of the U.K. firm.
