LONDON—Barabino & Partners, the largest public relations firm in Italy, has opened an office in London. The new office, led by Giovanni Sanfelice di Monteforte, will represent Italian listed companies and Italian products in the U.K.

The firm’s new U.K. headquarters will be the fifth office for B&P and the second outside of Italy (after Brussels), and is designed to strengthen the firm’s relationships with international media and capital markets. The firm will also work with U.K. listed companies wanting to enhance their relations with the Italian fund managers.

“We have always considered being Italians to be a plus, both for shareholding and company culture,” says Federico Steiner, general manager. “As entrepreneurs we now bring our know-how to London because we think that in the communication industry “made in Italy” is a value to develop and not only an asset to protect.”

Sanfelice di Monteforte worked for Barabino from 2001 to 2004 before leaving to become head of the institutional press office at Telecom Italia.

Barabino reported 2006 revenues up better than 30 percent to around €16.5 million, enough to make it one of the largest independent public relations firms on continental Europe. Barabino is also the leading Italian firm in the mergermarket mergers and acquisitions league table.
