MADRID—Spanish corporate and financial communications firm Llorente & Cuenca has been retained as media advisor in Mexico to Gas Natural of Spain on its $1.448 billion acquisition of five Mexican power plants. Gas Natural, already the largest gas supplier in Mexico, will purchase the electric plants from EDF and Mitsubishi.

The win for Llorente & Cuenca comes only three months after the firm opened its Mexico office, extending its reach in international Spanish-speaking markets. Llorente & Cuenca, based in Madrid, also has offices Barcelona, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Lima, Mexico, Panama and Quito and works with affiliated companies in eight additional Latin American cities.
